There are many different ways for people to communicate. When most people think about communicating they think of talking, but there are many different things that contribute to talking with are the sounds you make, the type of language you use, and the tone of voice you use. These help to show your mentor that you respect them with the type of language and tone you use. Secondly, there is listening and hearing that contributes to communicating. Listening and showing that you clearly hear your mentor tells them that you care about what they are talking about. Also, non-verbal communication which to me is a very important way to communicate, because it includes your facial expressions, body language, and posture. Even though you talk and use the tone that is acceptable for the situation, but everything you are not saying is what really gives anyone their opinion about you. For example, if you are in an interview with a smile on your face, confident movements, and a straight posture you are more likely to put a good impression on anyone. Rather that making weird faces, awkward movements, and a sloppy posture. Also, there is written communication which is emails, texts, and phone calls. You need to use correct grammar within these, because of not you will be seen as disqualified for the job. Lastly, one of the main communications is visual, which is really like pictures that your mentor, or employer could possibly see. So this is really talking about social media. So, you only want to put things on social media that you want them to see, because they can see who you are by a picture, without you even being there to explain what is happening. So, they can interpret anything they want from it. These are many ways to communicate with people to help them know you better, and how to act during an interview.
There are also many expectations about communications with different people. Like with your friends you would just be yourself, but the more laid back kind. You would usually greet them with a scream and a big hug. Then talk to them about all the new gossip you heard at school. Whereas, with your family you would greet them with with a hug. You would still act yourself around them and tell them what you're going through, but you will not go into as much details as you told your friend. You would also treat your family with a certain respect. Lastly, they way you would want to communicate with your employer at a job interview would be to introduce yourself along with a firm, yet gentle handshake. Also, to look them in the eye as you do this. You tell them about the basics about you, like your certification, why you would be good for them, and how you can contribute to them.
I now further understand how I need to communicate with my mentor by doing this project. I will make sure not to just respond with one word answers, if needed. Because this will show that I am listening. I will also try to use great non-verbal communication, by using good-eye contact, and a great posture. Also, I will do my best to always show and share my ideas and concerns. Also, by doing these things it will help me to do better and accomplish more in my Mentorship.

Getting Ready for Your Mentor
Summary:
For getting to know your mentor, you need to simply do these things over the course of the first two weeks. You need to make sure to be responsible, like arrive a couple of minutes before your scheduled arrival time. Also, you need to observe the place at which your going to be working at. Take in the feel of the space, and how the employees address each other. Also, how the others dress.
You also need to discuss details with your mentor, like the specific time and days in which you shall be coming. This article also gives us seven strategies on how to get the most out of your mentorship. They are to be professional, show enthusiasm with what you are doing, immerse yourself, always do your best work, take initiative, network, and also building your portfolio. Throughout your mentorship you need to get recognition with many important people in your field of work. Towards the end of your mentorship you do not need to start slacking off, you need to still put in as much effort as you did in the beginning. Also, it would be great to even send your mentor or the office you worked in a thank you letter thanking them for all they showed you and taught you.
Reflection:
I believe that this is a very informational article that can be use to help many people who are starting a mentorship. Also, many tips to help guide you through your mentorship. This can also help you get the most out of your mentoship.

2. What I received from JD Russo's talk was that once we become passionate about something, everything in our life seems to start to revolve around this passion. Also, we want to tell people about this passion, but they do not seem to have the same fire about it as you do. This is not because your passion is not important, it is just that you and that person are indifferent and have different passions. So, with my mentorship I talk about how excited I am for this and about how I am starting to live out my passion, but it seems like others could care less. I can not let this knock me down though, I need to keep going and try to strive with what I have for my passion.
3. I did not just do this to get the ranking of leader. I did this to take a further step, towards my passion of treating others in the medical field.
